PRIVACY POLICY
1. Who we are?
CENTRE FOR NATURAL HEALING AND MEDITATION (CNHM) is a non-profit charitable association and a Non-Governmental Organisation duly registered under the laws of Mauritius with its registered office situated at 262, Sookdeo Issur Lane, 73329, Bonne Terre, Vacoas, Mauritius.
2. Purpose of the Privacy Policy
The Privacy Policy is in line with the Mauritian Data Protection Act 2017, as amended, which is designed to strengthen the control and personal autonomy of individuals over their personal data, in line with current relevant international standards. The Privacy Policy adopted by CNHM describes how CNHM collects and uses Personal Data of individuals who engage with CNHM both physically and via our websites.
This Privacy Policy applies only to your use of our websites. It does not extend to any websites that are linked to from our website (whether we provide those links or whether they are shared by other users).
3. What is personal data?
Personal data refers to any information that can identify an individual, either directly or when combined with other data and includes his/her name, address, contact details, etc.
4. When does CNHM process your personal data?
The Privacy Policy explains when CNHM processes your personal data in the performance of its obligations, which includes:
- When you shop in our physical stores and online websites (www.cnhm.mu)
- When you enter your personally identifiable information on our websites:
- www.cnhm.mu, www.pranichealing.mu, www.iambetter.org, and www.lumieremaurice.mu.
- When you participate in our awareness camps, meditation sessions, marketing programs, surveys or events
- When you register for our catalogues, emails, etc
- When you wish to avail the wellness services provided by CNHM
- When you provide your information in any other way.
When you visit our websites, the web servers automatically collect anonymous information such as log data, browser files, IP addresses, current location, referring/exit pages etc. Our websites use cookies to make your browsing experience more enjoyable.
5. Why does CNHM store and use personal data?
The Privacy Policy explains the purposes for which CNHM uses personal data with a view to fulfill its duties and responsibilities, which include amongst others:
- To fulfil any contractual/statutory obligations we have with you;
- It is our legal duty, or
- You consent to it.
- We require this information to understand your needs and provide you with a better service and in particular for the following reasons:
• For internal record keeping and audit purposes.
• To improve our products and services.
• To send promotional email about new products, special offers or other information which we think you may find interesting, using the email address which you have provided.
• To contact you for market research purposes.
All personal data is stored securely in a manner that reasonably protects it from misuse and loss and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
In any event, CNHM is committed to ensuring that the information it collects and processes is appropriate for the purpose for which it was collected.
PHF reassures you that any disclosure or transfer of personal data, other than for the purposes listed above, to third parties will only be done with your permission.
6. Marketing Purposes
We may use your personal data to inform you about relevant products and offers. The personal data we have about you is made up of what you tell us and the data we collect under circumstances mentioned above.
We can use your personal data to send you marketing correspondences if we have your consent. You may request us to stop sending you such correspondences by notifying us in writing at any time.
We may also ask you to confirm or update your personal data and/or your choices (e.g. your preferred channel of communication) in the future.
7. For how long your personal data is being retained?
PHF will keep your personal data for:
- as long as we need to in order to use it as described in the above section 5;
- the period as may be necessary for CNHM’s compliance with legal obligations; or
- for as long as we have your permission to keep it.
8. What happens if you wish to access, amend or want us to stop using your personal data?

9. Acceptance to the use of Personal Data
You acknowledge, understand and agree that CNHM will, for the purpose of providing its services to you during the usual course of its business operations, collect and where required process the personal data voluntarily communicated by you.
10. How to withdraw your consent?
You may withdraw your consent as regards to the disclosure and processing of your personal data for any particular purpose(s) at any time. Should you wish to do so, you will need to notify CNHM in writing.
If you withdraw your consent, we will not be able to provide you with certain products or services and you will be informed accordingly.
However, notwithstanding the withdrawal of your consent, your personal data may still be processed by CNHM in the performance of its statutory duties.
11. Modifications and updates
